“Your word is truth” John 17:17
Joliet Baptist Church (JBC) was established on July 13, 1975. The land where our present church building stands was purchased in 1979. The official ground breaking took place on March 6, 1980, and a large percentage of the work on the building was completed by church members. The first service in the new building, which is built in the shape of a cross, was held August 24, 1980.
Since its beginning, JBC has grown to become a church marked by a strong adherence and submission to the Bible, a genuine love and affection for each other, and a passion to see the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the glory of God increased throughout Joliet and wherever God allows us to serve. Over the years, God has blessed JBC with many committed, Bible-believing and Bible-teaching Christians to fill the needs of the church. Today, God has unified Joliet Baptist into one church family led by Pastor Bob Reed and a board of deacons whose whole, by God’s grace, is much greater than the sum of its original parts.
